Put one foot infront of the other ........

Today is election day. I have the privilege to vote with my daughter. It is something we have done for the past two elections. It is a nice tradition that we have. It is something that we will share all of our lives. I feel very blessed to have this moment with her.

I also feel blessed that the old friends whom I have reconnected with are very open to this new chance. I have been catching with them, seeing how they have been doing. Having them tell me their ups and downs that they have come across, and how they dealt with it. I have been listing more and speaking less. However, I am making sure that these new-old friends know that I am truly making an effort this time.

I realize that there is still something missing. As I continue this journey, I will always be looking for what is next. What do I need to do to better myself? I have learned that complacency will not work for me. I need to continue to grow. I need to experience completely new things and be open to brand new ideas. There is a world of wonder that I need to be exposed to and experience. I need to touch it, feel it, immerse myself in it. No longer will I criticize the new or different idea.

I realize that I have been given a second chance with some friends. I will not mess it up this time. I will invest myself to the friendship and not take it for granted. I will make sure that they know I appreciate them and respect them. They will know that our friendship is more than just lip service. They will know when they need me; I will be there for them. I know that they have been there for me.
