I woke up this morning, and I am a little sad. Yesterday, a lady who was a member of my temple had passed away. She was 93. Her and her husband always said hello to me every time I saw them. They loved to hear about my daughter and dancing. They told me how I was doing a great job and consistently smiled. No request was too big or small.
One time she was having a challenging day. She was very upset. She had left her cane and her glasses, and she could not remember where she put them down. She kept back tracking to every place she could have been. She comes to me and asks if I could help her. She did not want to make a big scene. I told her that of course I would help. I had her sit down in the main office. I walk to the back and bring out the items she was missing. She was so happy. I had seen them in the hallway, and I brought them to the office not too long ago. She was so thankful. She gave me a hug and then was on her way.
I was very lucky to know her for several years. Today I will be going to her funeral. I will miss her smile and how happy she was to see you and talk to you. I know that she made my temple a better place to be. She will be missed but never forgotten. I will make sure that I never do.
