Today I had the day off. So what did I do on my day off. I decided to catch up with an old friend of mine for coffee. What is so great about this friend is that we encourage one another. Whatever one of us needed the other one is there for them no questions asked. As he would like to say, "Andy, you are my brother from another mother." It has been several months since we have seen one another. First thing he said was "Wow, Andy you have changed!" He was amazed at the weight loss, brand new hair style and brand new attitude.
We then get into some of the challenges that we are both facing. And at that hour we could dissect each challenge and gave one another different perspective on what we should do. As it was time to go, I gave him a hug, and I made a promise to myself to make sure I do not take as long to reach out to him again.
I realized at that hour that I have become so cut off to my friends because I was not happy with the person I was. This change needed to happen. I would have become a very lonely angry old man. Now I see myself as a person with several good friends, and I like who I am.
I will never become a slave to fashion. I am starting to understand you need to dress the part. I have been playing a bum for far too long. The new chapter has started. The reset button is pushed, and I have a put my best foot forward.
